Writing the best personal study plan for a Canada study visa can be confusing and time-wasting especially when you don’t even know what to write or say in your study plan even though you have it in your head.
I was once like you during my application and It took me 5 months to write my own Canada student visa sop which is why I don’t want you to pass through that stress.

What Is A Study Plan For Student Visa Canada?
A study plan for a Canada study student visa is an essay you write to the Canada visa officer telling them the reasons why you want to study in Canada and what your future goals are after your study and why they should approve your study permit.
As you know, Canada does not conduct a physical interview. The way they access you as an applicant is by reading through your study plan.
Just sell yourself to the visa officer like a business owner who wants to sell his/her product to a customer.
You want to make sure that you do everything within your power to write a well-detailed, structured, and convincing study plan to get your visa approved.

What should be included in a study plan?
If you want to avoid bluffing, There are things that must be included when Writing a study plan for a Canada study permit and they include:
Make sure to provide documents of everything you are claiming that you own or your parents own in your study plan.

1. Introduction
Your opening paragraph should be introducing yourself to the visa officer. Just give a brief description of yourself and your family.
In my own case, after I introduced myself, I made sure I included some strong family ties by introducing who my father and my mother is and the job they do in Nigeria.
So you might want to try it as that was the only place I used my b family details as strong family ties in my study plan for a Canada permit.
2. Why do you wish to study your chosen program
Here you want to tell the visa officer in your statement of purpose why you choose to study the course, what informed your choice for this program? Are you studying the course because you have background knowledge in it from your university or do you have experience in that area? These are some of the things the immigration officer wants to know.
They want to know that you are not new to the course you want to go and study in Canada.
3. What do you intend to achieve with the program
You should let the visa officer know in your visa study plan what you plan to achieve with your chosen course after your study. Do you want to open a business, or do you want to use the certification to further your studies in other programs, does the course align with your long time goal?

4. Why have you chosen the program in your school of choice in Canada and why will this be better than studying in your home country
Explain to the visa officer in your study plan why you chose that particular school that gave you admission and why not other schools in your home country or other countries.
You want to tell the immigration officer how you have searched for schools in your home country and couldn’t find any school that has a robust course outline and technology for the course you want to study or any other reason that made you choose that particular school in Canada.
The immigration officers are very smart b and when they read your study plan, these are some of the questions that will be in their minds.
5. Talk about research that you have done concerning studies in your country of residence
Write in your study plan what research have you done into studies in your country of residence or of citizenship.
Convince the visa officer that you have thoroughly done your research and you couldn’t find a school that can teach your course of study in-depth and probably other research you have done before applying to that school in Canada.
The visa officer wants to be sure that you know your purpose of studying in Canada that way.
6. Future Career/Academic Goals
Explain the relevance of your chosen program to your future career/academic goals; include your expected salary after graduation, names of prospective companies/organizations where you will like to work, and in what role. State employment prospects, (given the troubled economic condition in Nigeria) that would compel you to return home on completion of your program.
7. State your academic qualification
This is where you want to tell the visa officer what academic qualification you have attained over the years. If you are a university graduate, HND holder, or any relevant academic qualification that is aligned with the course you want to study in Canada.
8. Include A Study gaps In Your Canada Student Visa SOP
Explain any gaps in study or employment of over 6 months and provide proof of same.
Let the visa officer know that you have a study gap and that during the time of that study gap, you have been either working or acquiring other certificates, and also state the reason for that study gap.
9. Show proof of assets or property that ties you to Nigeria
Visa officers want to see proof that you will return back to your home country after you study in Canada. At no point should you put in your study plan that you will remain in Canada after your studies.
If your parents are with you, let the visa officer know that your parents are in Nigeria and have properties. Include all your father or mother’s property. Make sure that you are also submitting all the documents you claim your father or mother owns.
The popular documents that visa applicant use to prove ties to their home are Legal documents like, Deeds Of Assignment, Business registration, and any other documents that ties them back to their home country.
10. Write About You Or Your Sponsor’s Financial Capacity In Your Canada Student Visa SOP
Provide details of the sponsor(s) and explain your relationship to them. Ensure you have a clear understanding of the cost of studying in Canada (tuition fees, travel, and living expenses).
Explain why you are convinced that your sponsor is capable of covering all these expenses. Talk about the amount which the sponsor has kept aside for you for the first year of your studies and the guarantee that funds are available for subsequent years.
11. Give Details of planned Accommodation
Write in your study plan where you plan to stay either On Campus, Off-Campus, Home Stay, or with a Friend or family member living in Canada. Include research that you have conducted on costs, location, and distance from college/university
12. Relatives or Friends In Canada
If you have family members in Canada, talk about them and what they are doing. If you do not have any, state that fact.
What is the word limit for study plan in Canada?
If you want to write a good study plan for Canada study permit, you do not need to make it a 3000-word count as that does not guarantee that the immigration officer will grant the visa.
When it comes to the word limit, you want to make it as concise as possible. Your study plan should be 800 to 1000 words long and should not be filled with unnecessary things.
How many pages should a study plan for Canada student visa be?
Your study plan for Canada student visa should not exceed 1 and a half pages. You want to be as brief as possible while hitting the nail on the head.
Your study plan is not where you start talking about your childhood history and family. Go straight to why you want the visa officer to grant your visa request.

There is no set standard for Canada study plan font size to use. Look at your study plan and make the judgment yourself if it’s too small or too big for the visa officer.
And the font size of your study plan can be resized according to how many pages you want your study plan to be. The bigger the font size, the more pages you have,
From my own experience, I used 14 font sizes and Arial Black as the typography.
Is SOP and study plan Same?
They are basically the same thing. I don’t know about other countries, but for Canada travel student visa, a statement of purpose, and a study plan are the same thing depending on who is asking.

After you have finished writing your study plan, the next thing is to upload it to your GCKEY account along with your other visa application documents.
If you are using an agent for your visa application, then send the study plan to he/she and they will upload it on your behalf with other supporting visa documents.
In Conclusion
