How long does Canada’s medical test take?

After booking your medical test examination in a recognized medical center for visa application, depending on the medical center you use, you will need to make yourself available earlier for that date because there are a lot of people who have been scheduled for that date also.

You don’t want to be the last to be attended to.

In my own medical examination experience, I used IOM for my medicals and I got to the venue very early(10 am). It took me approximately 7 hours to complete the medical examination.

There were a lot of people that came for their medicals, plus there are a series of examinations you will undergo at the center.

Is Fasting Required For Canada Medical Test?

Fasting is not required if you are going for your Canada medical test. Don’t starve yourself because of the medical test. Make sure you eat very well because the medical test is a long process.

In my own case, I didn’t eat anything when I went for my medical test for a Canada visa. When I got there, we were told that eating does not disrupt the test process.

Immediately most of us started looking for what to buy because we were exhausted and hungry and still has few processes left to complete the medicals.

If you are using IOM for your medical test center, then you will see on their Tv screen that eating is allowed.

What do I need to bring to my medical exam in Canada?

You need to carry your:

  • Medical request letter sent to you by IRCC (This does not apply to those who are going for upfront medicals)
  • Medical appointment letter
  • Passport
  • Payment Receipt for the medical examination
  • 2 passport photographs (If Required)

In Conclusion

Getting yourself prepared before that day is very important. Get all your documents ready and get enough rest before your medical examination dates. It is important you get to your medical center early.

Visa Medical examinations can be very stressful.
